Master Instructor
Cara Hetlinger
Cara Hetlinger holds the rank of 7th Degree Master Instructor. She has been instructing TaeKwon-Do since 1995 and has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 1990. She began in the children’s program at the age of 9 and received her 1st Degree Black-Belt at the age of 15. She was a member of Team Canada in 1998 and 2000, earning third place in sparring at the World Championships. Cara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and is a High School Social Studies teacher in Wetaskiwin Regional School Division.

Cory Hetlinger
Cory Hetlinger holds the rank of 7th Degree Master Instructor. He has been instructing TaeKwon-Do since 1998 and has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 1996. He began TaeKwon-Do while attending university and after training seven days per week, he received his Black-Belt in only 3 years. He travelled to Eindhoven, Holland in 2000 as a member of Team Canada. Cory holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and is a High School Mathematics teacher in Wetaskiwin Regional School Division.

6th Degree Blackbelt
Mr. Bengert has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 1999. He competed on Team Canada at the World Championships in Telford, England in 2010 where he earned a silver medal in musical forms. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and is a High School English teacher in Wetaskiwin Regional School Division.

Ms. Coughlan has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do since 2003. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and works as a Registered Provisional Psychologist at a practice in both Edmonton and Wetaskiwin.

Mr. Wood has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 2012. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and is a High School Mathematics teacher in Wetaskiwin Regional School Division.

Lichtenberger

3rd Degree Blackbelt
Mr. Lichtenberger was born in Germany where he became an apprentice Baker until joining the military in 1996. In 2003, he completed a second apprenticeship as a machinist and immigrated to Canada shortly after to continue working in this trade.

Miss Hetlinger has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 2012 and is currently enrolled in Grade Eleven at Wetaskiwin Composite High School.

Mr. Watson has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 2017. He assists in our adult program and through consistent training, he has become a staple in our TaeKwon-Do family.

Mr. Mennear has been a member of Unified TaeKwon-Do International since 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and inspires Grade 5 students in Wetaskiwin Regional School Division.
